Steps for Life: Walking for Families of Workplace Tragedy

When Donna Van Bruggen laces up her shoes to walk in Steps for Life, her reasons are both intensely personal, and universal. Donna’s son, David, was struck by a forklift at his job and killed instantly. Now, Donna participates in Steps for Life – Walking for Families of Workplace Tragedy and will act as a spokesperson for the walk this spring.

"The Steps for Life walk is an opportunity for me to honor my son David who was killed at work, and to support other families who have had their lives torn apart by workplace tragedy,” Donna says.

BCRSP Releases 2024 Update to CRST® Examination Blueprint

MISSISSAUGA, ONTARIO – September 26, 2023 - The Board of Canadian Registered Safety Professionals (BCRSP) has released the 2024 Canadian Registered Safety Technician (CRST)® Examination Blueprint. The CRST® Examination Blueprint underwent review by a Competency Review Task Force which culminated in a competency validation survey which had a 34.7% response rate.

In 2018 the Board of Canadian Registered Safety Professionals (BCRSP) and the Australian Institute of Health & Safety (AIHS) launched a joint project to develop a chapter on Ethics and Professional Practice for the OHS Body of Knowledge (OHS Bok). The BCRSP/AIHS collaboration was a global collaboration as part of the Body of Knowledge project and the chapter was published in late 2019. BCRSP Signs Partnership Agreement with WOHSS

Mississauga, ON – November 28 2019 — On November 27, 2019, the Board of Canadian Registered Safety Professionals (BCRSP) signed a partnership agreement with the Women in Occupational Health and Safety Society (WOHSS).

The BCRSP and the WOHSS recognize the benefits of a collaborative partnership to improve safety and health in workplaces and the development of occupational health and safety practitioners at all levels.

The BCRSP and WOHSS will work cooperatively to:
