Robin Angel, BSc, MSc, CRSP Appointed BCRSP Governing Board Chair

MISSISSAUGA, ONTARIO – July 1, 2021 The Board of Canadian Registered Safety Professionals (BCRSP) appoints Robin Angel, BSc, MSc, CRSP as Governing Board Chair effective July 1, 2021 through June 30, 2023. Robin Angel is the twenty-sixth Chairperson since the certification body’s incorporation in 1976 and succeeds David Johnston who has served as Chair since July 2020.

As the BCRSP Governing Board Chair, Robin Angel will lead the Governing Board through the execution of its strategic plan and vision.  As an OHS professional based out of Halifax, Nova Scotia, Robin has diverse experience in the disciplines of occupational health and safety, environmental management, industrial hygiene, and quality assurance systems. Her experience includes chemical manufacturing, oil and gas exploration, oil refinery operations, corporate industrial hygiene, tire manufacturing and occupational health and safety programs. Robin is currently the Regional Director Occupational Health and Safety Division, Nova Scotia Department of Labour and Advanced Education. Robin has been a Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP)® since 2006. 

Joining Robin on the Governing Board are officers Paul Belair, MBA, CRSP (Vice Chair), David Johnston, CRSP, EP (Past Chair), Mark Fernandes, CRSP (Secretary), and David Larson, CSP, CFPS, ARM, CRSP (Treasurer). Governors include Stephanie Benay, CRSP, Tehzin Chadwick, MHSc, CRSP, ROH, CIH;  David Deveau, MBA, BEDS, CRSP, Brenda Henry, MBA, CRSP, Larry Masotti, MA, CRSP, Buck Page, CRSP, CPP, Will Rowan, CRST, Sandra Stephens, LLB, LLM (Public Member) and Executive Director Nicola J. Wright, BA (Hons), CAE.

The new Board officially began their term July 1, 2021.

The Board of Canadian Registered Safety Professionals is a public interest, not-for-profit, federally incorporated self-regulating organization which sets the certification standards for the OHS profession. BCRSP strives to advance the body of knowledge, the competency of the profession, and the value our certificants bring to society. The BCRSP grants the CRSP® and CRST certifications to individuals who successfully complete the certification process through application assessment, interview, and examination.  The Board governs its certificants in order that the public interest may be served and protected.
