In 2018, the BCRSP Governing Board entered into a partnership with the Threads of Life. The Association for Workplace Tragedy Family Support, known as Threads of Life, is a Canadian registered charity dedicated to supporting families after a workplace fatality, life-altering injury or occupational disease. The BCRSP partnership looked to create a unique scholarship opportunity to support Threads of Life family members.

The Board of Canadian Registered Safety Professionals (BCRSP) announced in the Fall of 2016 that changes are coming to the Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP)® certification. There is also a new certification – the Canadian Registered Safety Technician (CRST) certification being developed by the BCRSP.
