54 OHS Technicians Awarded CRST Certification

The Board of Canadian Registered Safety Professionals (BCRSP) is pleased to announce 54 individuals were awarded the Canadian Registered Safety Technician (CRST) certification on May 11, 2022. 

The CRST certification was introduced in 2018 to support the evolving needs of industry. The CRST certification process requires individuals to meet qualification standards, including education and experience requirements, pass the CRST Examination, and stay up to date through a continuous professional development process.

A Manufacturing Safety Alliance of BC external auditor is a health and safety professional trained and qualified by the Alliance to assess the occupational health and safety management systems for large employers. External auditors are independent consultants selected and paid by companies working on completing or maintaining their OSSE certification.

WSP is a two-year diploma program developed to meet the growing needs of industry and graduate students with a strong foundational knowledge in health and safety. The program is designed to assist students in identifying, assessing, and managing risks in a variety of work environments with a focus on policies and procedures in care and prevention practice. The program curriculum prepares students for placement in a variety of occupations including all major employment sectors and within the public sector.

Mississauga (March 15, 2022) - The International Network of Safety and Health Professional Organisations (INSHPO), in collaboration with the Board of Certified Safety Professionals (BCSP), the BCSP Foundation, the Board of Canadian Registered Safety Professionals (BCRSP), and the American Society of Safety Professionals (ASSP), has announced a collective research investment directed at measuring the impact and value of using safety professionals in the workplace.
