BCRSP and CSSE Announce the Release of the New BCRSP Exam Study Guides

September 8, 2022 — The Board of the Canadian Registered Safety Professionals (BCRSP) and the Canadian Society of Safety Engineering (CSSE) are proud to announce the market availability of the BCRSP certification examination study guides, commissioned by CSSE.

CSSE is a strategic partner of the BCRSP.  In spring 2021, the CSSE took over custodianship of the BCRSP certification examination study guides. The CSSE commissioned industry experts from Mazur Safety Inc. to author an update to the guides. The study guides contain information to aid occupational health and safety practitioners preparing for a BCRSP certification examination.

“CSSE was the partner of choice for BCRSP to assume ownership of these important and essential tools that support the preparation of OHS practitioners writing the certification exams,” says Robin Angel, Chair of the BCRSP Board. “The release of the study guides is a significant achievement and the first step in the reinvigoration of the CSSE/BCRSP partnership.”

CRST and CRSP applicants can now purchase the Big Book of Safety Knowledge and their choice of a companion guide for either the CRSP or CRST examination. Early-access pricing is now being offered through a special promotion at only $250 for CSSE members; or certification candidates can purchase as non-members for $350 or become new members and save by purchasing a CSSE membership and guide for only $450 ($100 savings).

“Our members have told us clearly that they value professional development, training and certification and how CSSE can support,” said Christl Aggus, President of the CSSE Board. “We are committed to working with BCRSP and other partners to deliver excellent, current, and relevant education and training materials to address the needs of professionals—at all stages of their careers.”

The CSSE is in the midst of a strategic planning process to define its programs and services - a process that will support the career-long professional development journey of OHS professionals.

The release of the study guides is one way the CSSE and BCRSP have partnered to have a positive impact on public safety and to align for a single, influential voice to speak on behalf of all practitioners involved in the practice of improving workplace safety in Canada. The CSSE and BCRSP are continuing discussions to identify areas of formal collaboration to ensure the success of the OHS profession and the professionals who work within it.

The CRSP and CRST Examination Study Guides are now available for purchase at csse.org. The CSSE education courses are also open for registration.
