BCRSP Signs Partnership Agreement with the Canadian Association for Black Health and Safety Professionals

Mississauga, ON – August 2 2022 — On Saturday July 30, 2022, the Board of Canadian Registered Safety Professionals (BCRSP) signed a partnership agreement with the Canadian Association for Black Health and Safety Professionals (CABHSP).

The BCRSP and the CABHSP will seek opportunities for shared projects and collaboration to remove systemic barriers for safety professionals and promote inclusion & advancement for black health and safety professionals.

The agreement outlines that the BCRSP and the CABHSP to work together to:

  • Support the recognition and achievement of BCRSP occupational health and safety certifications.
  • Identify opportunities for shared projects and collaboration to advance the occupational health and safety profession.
  • Exchange research data, organizational data, and statistics to promote health and safety

"The BCRSP and CABHSP will work collaboratively on projects and initiatives that we jointly identify as critical in advancing the CABHSP to advance black occupational health and safety initiatives both domestically and internationally." said Robin Angel, MSc, CRSP, BCRSP Governing Board Chair. 

BCRSP and CABHSP will use their collaborative efforts and expertise to improve health and safety in workplaces and to encourage individuals working in OHS to pursue the advancement of their career through certification, mentorship, and lifelong learning.

The Board of Canadian Registered Safety Professionals is a public interest, not-for-profit, federally incorporated self-regulating organization which sets the certification standards for the OHS profession. BCRSP strives to advance the body of knowledge, the competency of the profession, and the value our certificants bring to society. The BCRSP grants the CRSP® and CRST certifications to individuals who successfully complete the certification process through application assessment, interview, and examination.  The Board governs its certificants in order that the public interest may be served and protected.
