As we move through the final months of 2026, I want to take a moment to reflect on what has been an important and productive period for BCRSP and to thank everyone who contributes to our success. Whether you are a certificant, volunteer, applicant, employer partner, committee member, or supporter of the profession, your engagement helps strengthen occupational health and safety across Canada.

This year has been especially meaningful as we celebrate 50 years of the BCRSP. The 50th Anniversary Celebration Conference brought together safety professionals from across Canada and beyond to learn, connect, and celebrate our shared commitment to professional excellence and safety leadership.  The Board has also been focused on how we will continue to serve the evolving needs of employers and the profession in the years ahead.

One of the most significant outcomes of our recent strategic planning work has been the adoption of updated mission and vision statements. These changes reflect the evolution of BCRSP's role while remaining firmly grounded in our core purpose. I shared this update in my last message so if you have not had a chance to review the changes, you can view the updated statements on our website at https://bcrsp.ca/en/about-us/mission-vision-values

The Governing Board met in September to review strategic priorities, governance matters, and opportunities that will help strengthen BCRSP's long-term impact and sustainability. These discussions focused on ensuring that our certifications continue to be credible, relevant, and responsive to the needs of the profession and the public we serve.

Collaboration remains another important area of focus. Throughout the year, BCRSP has continued to engage with partners across the occupational health and safety community to explore opportunities for greater alignment, shared learning, and a stronger collective voice for the profession. These conversations are helping to build relationships that will support both today's practitioners and future generations of safety professionals.

Looking ahead, we remain committed to advancing professional competencies through credible credentials and standards, supporting certificants throughout their careers, and continuing to build awareness of the value that certified occupational health and safety professionals bring to employers, workers, and communities.

As we enter the final months of the year, our focus remains on delivering value to interested parties, supporting our volunteers and committees, and laying the groundwork for the next phase of BCRSP's strategic journey.

On behalf of the Board of Directors, thank you for your continued trust, participation, and commitment to the profession. The strength of BCRSP has always come from the people who support it.

Sincerely,

Larry Masotti, MA, BEd, CRSP
