Since September, the Board has been actively engaged in several key initiatives aimed at strengthening our organization and supporting our certificants. The Board meeting held in September 2025 in St John’s, Newfoundland covered a number of important discussion topics.
Here are some highlights:
Board of Directors Update:
William Reid, CRSP tendered his resignation to the Board due to personal reasons, and as such David Deveau, CRSP who has previously served one term as a Governor, was appointed for the remainder of Bill’s term. I would like to thank Bill for his service to the BCRSP, and welcome back David.
Anniversary Event:
The BCRSP Anniversary Task Force is continuing preparations for the upcoming 50th Anniversary Celebration Conference, working diligently to ensure an engaging and memorable event in Niagara Falls. Registration will be opening soon so watch for details coming soon.
Management System:
The Board conducted an annual review of the management system and approved routine updates to documentation, policies, and procedures. The results of the ISO/IEC 17024 External & Witness Audit and the Internal Audit were also reviewed.
Governance:
As part of the Board’s focus on continuous improvement, the results of the board performance, and exit interview surveys (from departing governors) were reviewed and discussed to identify any potential improvement areas. The BCRSP’s Governance Committee is tasked with bringing recommendations to the Board.
The Expression of Interest process is opening soon for Board positions, so if you are interested in learning more, I encourage you to review the Expression of Interest package once it is available.
Governors often share that serving on the BCRSP Governing Board is an enriching experience. Collaborating with dedicated colleagues, we not only advance our shared goals but also inspire each other to achieve excellence for the benefit of all certificants.
If you have any feedback for the Governing Board, you can submit via the BCRSP office email address.
