About the Opportunity

We are seeking a Coordinator, Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) to support more than 850 field and operational employees across Ontario and Alberta.

Reporting to the Director, HS&E, you'll help drive safety excellence across our Damage Prevention and Energy Services divisions, supporting COR® certification, regulatory compliance, employee wellness, training programs, and continuous improvement initiatives.

This is an excellent opportunity for an emerging HSE professional looking to expand their expertise in construction, utilities, and field operations while making a measurable impact on employee safety and organizational performance.

What You'll Do

Champion Safety & Compliance

• Support programs and initiatives that promote safe work practices across the organization.
• Assist with workplace inspections, incident prevention activities, hazard assessments, and regulatory compliance initiatives.
• Contribute to programs related to occupational health, emergency preparedness, PPE, driver safety, lone worker programs, and construction site safety.
• Monitor and track legislated safety requirements and support ongoing compliance activities.

Support COR® Certification & Continuous Improvement

• Help coordinate and maintain COR® certification requirements in Ontario and Alberta.
• Organize audit documentation and evidence packages for external auditors.
• Track action plans, milestones, and key deliverables to support successful audits.
• Participate in departmental planning and continuous improvement initiatives.

Play a Key Role in Disability Management

• Assist with return-to-work and modified duties programs.
• Support the preparation and submission of workplace injury and claims documentation.
• Maintain confidential claim records and coordinate follow-up activities.

Deliver Health & Safety Training Programs

• Coordinate company-wide training requirements and learning programs.
• Administer online learning platforms and compliance-based training.
• Support onboarding activities, including health and safety orientation for new employees.
• Monitor training completion rates and provide reporting to leadership.

Support Employee Engagement & Safety Culture

• Coordinate Joint Health & Safety Committee activities across multiple locations.
• Assist with safety recognition programs and employee engagement initiatives.
• Help analyze safety trends and performance metrics to support business decision-making.

Manage Reporting & Safety Data

• Support incident reporting, investigations, and documentation processes.
• Maintain safety records and reporting systems.
• Generate reports, dashboards, and trend analysis to help improve organizational safety performance.

What You'll Bring

• Post-secondary education in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Health & Safety, or a related field.
• 2 to 3 years of experience in health, safety, and environment within construction, utilities, industrial, or field-based operations.
• Knowledge of Ontario health and safety legislation; exposure to Alberta regulations is an asset.
• Experience supporting COR® certification, safety audits, or compliance programs is considered an asset.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office and learning management or compliance systems.
• A proactive, detail-oriented approach with a passion for continuous improvement.
