BCRSP Releases Update to CRSP Examination Blueprint

MISSISSAUGA, ONTARIO – July 24, 2024 - The Board of Canadian Registered Safety Professionals (BCRSP) has released the 2025 Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP)® Examination Blueprint. The CRSP® Examination Blueprint underwent review by a Competency Review Task Force which culminated in a competency validation survey which had a 25% response rate.

The main purpose of the survey is to obtain an evaluation of a comprehensive set of competencies for the safe practice of a safety professional. The survey measured the importance, criticality and frequency of each item listed. The validation survey results were utilized by the competency review task force in developing the 2025 CRSP® Examination Blueprint which was approved by the Governing Board in June.

Administration of the first examination developed from the new Blueprint is targeted for February 2025 CRSP® examination administration.

The Blueprint was developed to guide those involved in the development of the Canadian Registered Safety Professional Examination and to provide the public (e.g., examinees, educators, administrators) with practical information about the examination. The Blueprint has two major components: (1) the content domain to be measured and, (2) the explicit guidelines on how this content is to be measured.

BCRSP wishes to thank all the individuals who have contributed to the creation of this Blueprint including the Competency Review Task Force members: Marc Barre, CRSP, Paul Belair, CRSP, Evan Edbom, CRSP, Linda Fieldsend, CRSP, John Florence, CRSP, Elisa Koene, CRSP, Vsevolod Kuzmenko, CRSP, Jennifer MacFarlane, CRSP, Bhooma Raghavan, CRSP, Frank Wilson, CRSP, and Ryan van der Hoorn, CRSP.

Thanks is also extended to the Canadian Registered Safety Professionals who responded to the competency validation survey.
