Why did you decide to pursue a BCRSP Certification?
I decided to pursue the CRSP (Certified Registered Safety Professional) certification for several compelling reasons. As a seasoned Occupational Health and Safety Consultant with over 14 years of experience in high-risk industries such as Oil & Gas, Healthcare, and Construction, and Education, obtaining the CRSP certification likely aligns with your commitment to maintaining the highest standards of professional excellence.
My decision to pursue CRSP certification was based on a desire to further validate my extensive expertise and leadership in occupational health and safety. Given my diverse experience in both Canadian and international contexts, the CRSP certification serves as a testament to my dedication to ongoing professional development and adherence to industry best practices.
The CRSP certification is widely recognized and respected in the field, and my decision to pursue it reflects a strategic move to enhance my professional credibility. Being a CRSP offers a proactive approach to staying current with industry standards, regulations, and emerging trends, which is crucial in the dynamic and ever-evolving landscape of occupational health and safety.
How did you find out about the certification?
I met Dr. Ganapathi Manchi on LinkedIn and he was one the pioneers in the OHS field who was also a CRSP, had a discussion with him and he encouraged me to write the test.
How long have you had your certification and why do you still maintain it?
I have been a CRSP Since 2020. Maintaining the CRSP certification over time showcases your dedication to continuous improvement and staying at the forefront of occupational health and safety advancements. It not only provides a formal recognition of your skills but also offers opportunities for networking, knowledge exchange, and access to valuable resources that further support your role as a leader in promoting safety and well-being in the workplace.
If you could give some advice to someone about why they should pursue certification with the BCRSP, what would you tell them?
As someone who has actively participated in regional OHS conferences and is certified in reputable safety organizations such as the Board of Canadian Registered Safety Professionals (BCRSP) and IOSH (Chartered Member), the decision to pursue CRSP certification aligns with your commitment to fostering a safety-first culture and contributing to the advancement of safety practices within various industries.
