Mississauga, ON – November 28 2019 — On November 27, 2019, the Board of Canadian Registered Safety Professionals (BCRSP) signed a partnership agreement with the Women in Occupational Health and Safety Society (WOHSS).
The BCRSP and the WOHSS recognize the benefits of a collaborative partnership to improve safety and health in workplaces and the development of occupational health and safety practitioners at all levels.
The BCRSP and WOHSS will work cooperatively to:
- Support the recognition and achievement of BCRSP occupational health and safety certifications.
- Promote and facilitate the transfer of relevant occupational health and safety knowledge through the recognition and promotion of mentorship opportunities.
- Identify opportunities for shared projects and collaboration to advance the occupational health and safety profession.
- Exchange research data, organizational data, and statistics to promote health and safety.

This collaboration includes BCRSP recognizing participation in the WOHSS mentorship program as qualified for professional development credit through the BCRSP’s Continuous Professional Development (CPD) program, and WOHSS endorsing BCRSP certifications and promoting recognition that the BCRSP certifications are designed to elevate professional standards and distinguish those who meet a formal education requirement and ongoing practical experience that are essential for the effective practice of occupational health and safety.
This agreement demonstrates both organizations an ongoing willingness to seek opportunities for shared projects and collaboration to advance the occupational health and safety profession.
