The purpose of the awards program is to recognize one individual and one organization/employer who are Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP)® or Canadian Registered Safety Technician (CRST) brand advocates.
The awards established are:
Individual certificant category: recognizes a BCRSP certificant who has demonstrated exceptional support and promotion of the CRSP® or CRST certification.

This year’s award winner in the Individual Category is Ebrahim Noroozi, CRSP from McGill University.
Ebrahim Noroozi has demonstrated exceptional support and promotion of the CRSP® certification through his dedication to nurturing and mentoring OHS practitioners in Quebec. He utilized his position as Certified Food Scientist & Laboratory Manager at McGill University to promote the CRSP® certification to his colleagues and students he encountered and has upheld the highest standards of ethical conduct to his certification.
Ebrahim Noroozi, 2018 BCRSP Recognition Award Winner, and Kevin Dawson, BCRSP Chair.
This year’s award winner in the Organization/Employer category is Public Services Health & Safety Association.
PSHSA encourages employees to continually upgrade and develop their skills and knowledge through professional development opportunities, including tuition reimbursement, and they encourage their staff to obtain the CRSP® certification through their Professional Development Policy. PSHSA also supports a certification examination preparatory course being offered on the premises and facilitates staff attendance at the course or reimburses for attendance at an external review course. In addition, PSHSA uses CRSP® certification as a criterion on their career ladder/advancement program. When recruiting Health and Safety professionals to provide occupational health and safety consultation, training, support, guidance and advice to their clients, they encourage job applicants to have a CRSP® designation. Currently, 19 of their staff are CRSP’s.
Congratulations to both Ebrahim Noroozi, CRSP and PSHSA to their outstanding contributions to promoting and supporting the value of certification.
