Paul Andre, Board Chair, is currently President and CEO (acting) of Workplace Safety North (WSN), a not-for-profit health and safety association in the province of Ontario that serves the forestry, mining and pulp and paper sectors along with community based clients of Northern Ontario. He has held a number of senior positions including Vice-President of Prevention Services for WSN and Senior Advisor to the Prevention Office of the Ministry of Labour. He holds a forestry technician and technologist diploma from Sir Sandford Fleming College and a certificate in Occupational Health and Safety from Ryerson University. After spending nearly 25 years in the field of Occupational Health & Safety and Corporate Business Management, Paul knows how to develop and fully integrate HSE into an organizations’ overall business strategies and goals. Paul believes by moving HSE from a vertically aligned function to a horizontally integrated system throughout an organization, it will result in long-term, sustainable top level HSE and business performance. Andrea Cotroneo, Board Governor & Public Member, is Vice President & General Counsel for Capital One Canada and is based in Toronto, Ontario. Andrea acts as the lead legal advisor for the Capital One Canada. Regarded as a thought leader in the payments industry in Canada, Ms. Cotroneo has been appointed to consultative committees, has testified before numerous governmental committees, and is a frequent panelist at industry events. David Johnston, Board Governor, is a seasoned environment, health and safety professional with over 35 years’ experience. He is currently employed by Toronto Hydro as the Director, Environment, Health and Safety. David has worked throughout Canada and the United States gaining experience in variety of industries including metal refining and smelting; chemical products; aerospace; automotive; agri-business; biofuels; and electrical utilities. In addition to his full-time job, he is a tireless volunteer contributing to the advancement of safety and the profession in multiple capacities. As well as serving on the BCRSP Board of Governors, he currently co-chairs the Ontario Electrical Utilities Provincial Labour-Management Safety Committee. He is also a member of the Board of Directors - Infrastructure Health and Safety Association; Editorial Board - Canadian Occupational Safety Magazine; Provincial Coroner’s Advisory Committee on Construction Fatalities; CSA Z1002 Technical Committee; and the Canadian Electricity Association’s National Safety Committee and National Sustainability Committee. Dale Shafer, Board Governor, has over 27 years of experience in the mining, refining, petro-chemical and energy industries. Dale holds certificates in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Resource Management and Management Development from the University of Alberta. He completed a Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) through the Athabasca University in 2016. Dale has enjoyed a diverse and challenging career, having developed safety people and programs in Canada and abroad, including locations in Cuba and Madagascar. He has held operations and corporate safety manager roles on projects and operations leadership teams for several organizations, including Sherritt International Corporation, Detour Gold Corporation and Nexen Energy. He currently works for Barrick Gold Corporation in the capacity of Director, Operational Management Assurance. Monica A. Nikki Wright, is currently the Executive Director of BCRSP and Vice President of Fletcher Wright Associates Inc. in Mississauga, Ontario. Ms. Wright holds a BA (Hons) from Trent University and received her Certified Association Executive (CAE) designation from the Canadian Society of Association Executives (CSAE) in 2009. Ms. Wright is a member of CSAE, Meeting Professionals International (MPI) and the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE). In 2004, Ms. Wright was the recipient of the MPI Toronto Chapter President's Award, has served on numerous committees and task forces, and has authored several articles for various association publications.
